An animated explainer video is generally considered to be a short (less than 2 minutes) video created using 2D and/or 3D animation techniques. A good explainer video conveys just the right amount of information in a simple, concise, and easy-to-follow way.
For a 60 second 2D animation it may typically take anywhere between 2-6 weeks. This depends mostly on the style and complexity of the animation and does not include feedback or revisions from you (the client). For a 3D animation, times can extend between 4-10 weeks. Those are averages and greatly depend on the project requirements. On top of this, an additional 2-3 weeks are expected counting feedback and revisions - this, again, depends on the amount and complexity of the revisions or changes required by you (the client).
The primary factors taken into account are length, style, and complexity of the animation. It also depends on the features required, whether it's voice over, soundtrack and sound effects, or additional languages.
To get a general idea, most 2D animations are priced between $2,000-$4,000 per 60 seconds of animation, while for 3D animations the prices are higher - ranging between $4,000-$10,000 per 60 seconds of animation.

A typical explainer video ranges between 30-120 seconds. It caters to a short attention span, just enough to inspire the viewer in taking the next step (e.g. getting in touch, requesting further information, signing up for a trial, etc). As a consideration, it can be beneficial to create multiple videos if the amount of information cannot be consolidated enough.
